Visteon Corporation showcased its cockpit electronics solutions, including connected car solutions, at the 2018 Beijing International Auto Show. The company demonstrated its technological strengths in advancing the automotive industry’s transition to all-digital cockpit electronics and autonomous driving.
This is Visteon’s second year at the Beijing International Auto Show since transforming itself into a technology company and the only Tier 1 supplier focused exclusively on cockpit electronics. Headlining Visteon’s exhibit is the China introduction of its DriveCore™ autonomous driving controller, a hardware/software platform that enables automakers to build autonomous driving solutions quickly in an open collaboration model, which aligns with the theme of the 2018 International Auto Show: Steering to A New Era.
DriveCore™ is independent of system hardware such as sensors or CPU hardware and provides extremely high information processing capabilities. It also includes advanced software development tools that promote collaboration within the broader ecosystem, greatly shortening the time for entering the market.
“Visteon is leading the shift toward the all-digital cockpit, which is an essential step on the path to autonomous driving. We will demonstrate solutions addressing industry trends such as digitization of the cockpit, consolidation of cockpit electronics components, and the transition to autonomous vehicles,” said Visteon President and CEO Sachin Lawande. “China is not only the world’s largest auto market, but also fastest-growing market for Visteon,” Lawande added. “The Beijing Auto Show is an ideal platform to showcase Visteon’s latest cockpit technology that addresses industry trends.”
“We are very pleased to participate in the Beijing International Auto Show again,” said Luke Lu, managing director of Visteon China. “Visteon’s business is growing rapidly in China, a market that has become a major driver of global growth. This year we showcased our latest technologies and products, and we will continue to invest in R&D and innovation in cockpit electronics and autonomous driving, creating greater value for customers in the Chinese market.”
In addition to the DriveCore™ autonomous driving platform, Visteon presented its line-up of instrument clusters, in-vehicle infotainment, displays, head-up displays, and the SmartCore™ cockpit domain controller at the Beijing Auto Show.
